The Federation
Aeronautic International, based in Paris, France has sponsored
the International Aviation Art Contest in cooperation
with the National Association of State Aviation Officials
and its 50 member states, the Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA), and the national Aeronautics Association.
The purpose of
the contest is to encourage students to consider careers
in aviation, and to increase public awareness of the benefits
of the aviation and aerospace industries.
Locally, our students
participate in the John Wayne Airport sponsored contest.
Category winners from this contest compete in the national
judging. Winners at the national contest level
again move on and compete in the international judging.
Our students have
placed very well in this contest. Truly a testament
to their talents and abilities, as well as the commitment
to art education by the Irvine Art Academy.
